2006 Gewurztraminer (06005)
This is our first ever Flat Rock Cellars Gewurztraminer from the little block next to the entrance road. It was picked on the 19th of October at 21 Brix, hand sorted and crushed. The crushed grapes were left on the skins for 12 hours at 5˚C after which it was gravity fed into the press. The juice was cold settled, then racked, warmed up and inoculated with the yeast strain Vin13. Cool fermentation lasted three weeks and the wine left on the lees to be stirred up once a week. It was racked, stabilized and filtered before bottling in March 2007.

Candy and pomegranate on the nose. Nice floral with hints of lychee on the palate. Well balanced with a clean finish.
