Best White Wine at Cuvee 2010!
Posted February 24, 2010Flat Rock Cellars is pleased to announce its win at the 2010 Cuvee Wine Awards. This year, Flat Rock Cellars took home the Best Chardonnay as well as the Best White Wine awards for its 2007 Reserve Chardonnay.
Known as the "Oscars" of the Ontario wine industry, Cuvee is the only Canadian wine competition where the winning wines are chosen by a panel of Winemakers from Ontario. In 2010, 56 wineries entered their best three wines into the competition (with some having the option to enter up to two more if they distribute through the LCBO), for a total of over 200 wines; Chardonnay being one of the largest categories.
The 2007 Reserve Chardonnay is a limited production wine that is only made in exceptional years. A few select barrels are hand picked through a tasting process following French oak barrel fermentation and approximately 10 months of aging, blended together and further aged for another 10 months in older French oak barrels to develop complexity and to soften out the wine.
The 2007 Reserve Chardonnay is currently available for purchase only at Flat Rock Cellars. Limited quantities available. For more information about this wine or to purchase please click here.
